Who Am I

Welcome to Charis-Handmade

Charis Manassaki was born and raised in Athens where she trained and practised as a child occupational therapist.Her Cretan and Asia Minor roots have distilled in her a love of beauty and art that has been with her from childhood and which continues to evolve.Her passion for painting which she took up as a child has, in recent years found an outlet in porcelain. Through her contact with the material, the opportunity to faithfully reproduce details and colours have formed a new avenue of expression and communication.In the beginning she created everyday and practical objects, all the time honing her technique and working next to craftsman from world renowned Meissen. Her unique creations now include handmade gifts, favours and ornaments.Today having gained the recognition from all quarters; private individuals, collectors, professionals and museums, she has made porcelain painting her sole occupation.
